The BCMA Influence global Chapter has been launched in recognition of the challenges brands face in this often-complex sector.


The business of Influencer Marketing has grown exponentially in the past year, with an ever-increasing number of brands entering the market. BCMA Influence has been launched, following a wide-ranging consultation amongst members to understand and identify the key issues facing brands, agencies, producers and platforms.


The BCMA will be commissioning research, producing best practice guides and extending its accreditation scheme to give additional confidence to brands that are planning to engage with Influencers as part of their marketing strategy.

  • Previously he spent the previous 11-years heading up the UK promotional merchandise association, BPMA.
  • He has also held a number of senior sales & marketing positions within major international brands.
  • Gordon has been an award judge for the BPMA student design competition, the Institute of Sales Management & the Institute of Promotional Marketing. A qualified digital marketer & has been the publishing director of the successful Product Media magazine.
  • Instrumental in the launch of the first association trade show which was a huge success & subsequently followed the launch of Merchandise World. 
  • Gordon launched the first ‘Promotional Products Week’ & also the UK’s first online education programme for the promotional products industry. More recently he has run his own membership consultancy

Jim, is an experienced strategist with 10 years’ experience in social media and branded content. After achieving an MA in scriptwriting and creating a couple of award-winning short films with the likes of Joe Gilgun, Jim shifted his focus to social media content advancing to a senior manager within Virgin Media's in-house team before transitioning to the agency side.


Here he worked across brands such as Redbull and British Red Cross, later co-founding specialist agency Commit driving longterm influencer and UGC strategy for global consumer brands including Seagate Technology. His previous research has been presented in leading publications such as The Spectator, Observer, and The Times’ Raconteur.


As Takumi’s Chief Strategy Officer, Jim will lead the new creative, data and insights practice - Takumi X. Takumi X is Takumi’s creator-first approach to influencer marketing enabling brands to work more closely than ever before with creators to produce innovative and culturally relevant content.

Chris is Sales Director of Getfluence, who help companies worldwide to quickly develop and scale their reputation.


They leverage technology to streamline the organisation of branded content campaigns around the world, in collaboration with premium influential media.


Chris is responsible for the UK team and has great experience in working with leading brands and agencies.


Prior to joining Getfluence, he was Commercial Account Manager at Cedar Communications, where heranthe day-to-day management of London's key media agencies along with some of the most recognised brands in the UK directly.

Shannon Walker is a passionate and multi-disciplined creative communications professional and founder of Social Disruption a Digital PR and brand storytelling consultancy that specialises in supporting brands to shape purposeful and culturally rich communications.


Shannon has enjoyed a 9 year career carving out a niche in the luxury consumer industry by disrupting traditional in-house PR environments and spearheading digital communication strategies that have led to triple percentage affiliate revenue growth and contributed to increased brand rankings.


This disruptive spirit led her to work at prestigious businesses such as Liberty London where she launched the retailer’s Influencer Engagement department, as well as work across KGA’s portfolio of prestige fragrance brands which includes Cartier, Elie Saab, Issey Miyake and Jimmy Choo to name a few.


As an advocate for inclusivity and diversity, Social Disruption is the vessel for the change Shannon wants to see in the industry. She has worked with emerging brands to leading corporations to offer a fresh perspective and support on the output of meaningful and polycultural communications.
